Cerium Tungsten Electrode
Cerium tungsten electrode is the electrode of tungsten added with 2%of CeO2.The power of its electronic transgression is 2.4ev, less than that of thorium-tungsten electrode. Its arc derivation voltage is also lower with better arc derivation function and higher arc power stability. The current allowed under the condition of anode direct current is higher and the burn spoilage is smaller.
Cerium tungsten electrode, a new type of non-radiate electrode material invented in China, can not only replace the thorium-tungsten electrode in the case of low direct current and mini-scaled welding but also bears superior features over the latter.
Cerium tungsten is a non-radioactive material. It can not only replace the thorium-tungsten electrode in the case of low direct current and mini-scaled welding but also bears superior features over the latter. It is known to be especially good for DC welding with low amperage because it starts very easily at low amps and usually requires about 10% less amps to operate than thoriated material. It is very popular to be used for the welding of orbital tube, pipe, very small parts, short welding cycles and also where a specific number of welds are called and then the electrode is to be replaced.
Cerium tungsten electrode has good starting arc performance under the condition of low current. As the arc current is low, these electrode can be used for welding of pipe, stainless steel and fine parts. Cerium-Tungsten is the best substitute for thoriated tungsten under the condition of low DC.
What’s more, cerium tungsten electrode is widely used in TIG welding, pladma welding, pladma cutting, pladma spay coating, pladma smelting and used in gas discharging light source.
